Moore Laboratory of Zoology

The Moore Laboratory of Zoology is the gift of Dr. Robert T. Moore and Margaret C. Moore of Borestone Mountain, Monson, Maine as Trustees of the Orcutt and Margaret Trusts. This building contains the world-renown research natural history collection of approximately 70,000 specimens of Neotropical birds and mammals (including the largest collection of birds of Mexico). The upper floor houses the teaching laboratory, offices, and research facilities related to the bird and mammal collections, whereas the lower floor contains a classroom, offices, sea water system and aquarium room for studies in marine biology. Erected 1951; enlarged 1969.
