Application Requirements

Here’s what you need to do:

Complete the Common App* including Oxy's Required Member Questions.

*$60 application fee or fee waiver required.

Ask your counselor to send:

  • an official transcript
  • both the School Report and Counselor Recommendation forms
  • a Midyear Report after your first term of senior year

Request two letters of recommendation from teachers (in core academic subjects). Ideally, we’d like letters from 10th to 12th grade classes.

Report your standardized test scores. We accept the ACT or SAT. (SAT Subject Tests are optional.)

Consider Early Decision if Oxy’s your top choice. Then you’ll need to complete a binding Early Decision Agreement (available on the Common App).

And, there are a few extra steps for transfer and international students.

Once you have submitted your Common App, you will receive an email within 24 to 48 hours with log-in information for our online Application Portal. There you can update your contact information, view which documents we have received, and, if necessary, upload additional materials.
