Step 1: Complete the CSS PROFILE

The CSS PROFILE application allows us to review your eligibility for Oxy need-based scholarships, loans, and work study. Remember to list Occidental College, CSS code #4581.

Step 2: Complete the FAFSA

• Spring 2013 Transfers by November 15

The FAFSA application allows us to review your eligibility for federal and state financial aid. Remember to list Occidental College, federal school code #001249.

Step 3: Submit Tax Returns & W-2s

• Spring 2013 Transfers by November 15
• Fall 2013 Transfers by April 19

Submit copies of your parents' and your Federal Tax Returns to our office. We prefer to receive documents by mail, but you can submit them by fax and e-mail also. Occidental is not part of the Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC). Families must submit paper copies of their tax returns and W-2s to the Financial Aid Office.

For CA Residents Only

All California residents are required to apply for a Cal Grant. Transfer students from California community colleges may be eligible for a Transfer Entitlement Cal Grant if they have at least a 2.4 GPA.

You must have filed your FAFSA and your community college must have submitted your GPA to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) by March 2nd in order to be considered for this Cal Grant.
