Have questions about Occidental's academic programs? We have answers!
At Occidental, faculty advisors are the primary source of advising and guidance for students as they navigate the academic program. The Advising Center's role is to provide additional support for students on more routine academic matters, including questions about academic policies and procedures, tracking Core Requirements, placement exams, transfer credit, and so on. We also frequently meet with students who are undecided about a major or minor and wish to talk to someone about their different options.
The Advising Center also serves as a good first stop for students who aren't sure which office or faculty member to talk to regarding a specific program or objective.
Making an Appointment
While drop-ins are welcome, we recommend making an appointment in advance to ensure that an advisor will be available to meet with you. Appointments can be either in person or via telephone. We are also happy to answer questions sent to our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. To schedule an appointment, simply click on the button below.
The Advising Center is open on weekdays when school is in session. Drop-ins are welcome, though appointments are the best to assure that an advisor will be able to meet with you. We try to respond to all emails and voice messages within 24 hours (48 hours during the weekend).
