Who Comes After 44?
The state of the presidency
In today's political landscape it's never too early to discuss future presidential elections, and here at Oxy we have a strong voice in those discussions. Caroline
Heldman, associate professor and chair of the department of politics, is a leading presidential scholar. Caroline will be a featured speaker at The State of the Presidency conference, hosted by Boise State University's Andrus Center for Public Policy on February 28. She will present on “The Implications of Democracy for Persistent Bias in the Selection of the President.”
Caroline, a frequent commentator on Fox News and MSNBC, co-authored Rethinking Madam President: Are We Ready for a Woman in the White House?. She also speaks from her "real world" experience in politics, where she’s served as a congressional staffer, campaign manager, campaign consultant and political activist.
In advance of the event, Boise Weekly talked to Caroline about political bias, sexual politics and media manipulation. As an added bonus, the paper includes her well-regarded Ted Talk, The Sexy Lie.
