BACK FROM SPRING BREAK
Bloger: Kyle Beasley
Wow, spring break definitely went by a lot faster than I expected it too. After being spoiled with a five week winter break, I can’t really complain though. Over spring break I didn’t really do anything out of the ordinary. For the first couple of days I relaxed at home with my family and caught up all the sleep that I missed out on during the previous week due to term papers and such. I did get to catch up with a few of my other friends who were on spring break as well. I also attended a dance show over break, put on by my former high school. It was good to see old friends and all. That’s about it for my spring break. Nothing special really happened. All my other time was spent preparing for my Kinesiology midterm coming up.
Now that I’m back on campus….
A few days ago, a couple friends and I decided to go to a local coffee shop called, Swork to study for a bit and just catch up with each other. It was a nice way to hear what everyone else did during their break and also get off campus for a bit. We also somehow ended up going to Yogurt Haven, a local frozen yogurt shop here in Eagle Rock. The Thai Tea flavor is the best, hands down. On another spare of the moment trip, we ventured into Old Town Pasadena to check out a few stores and grab dinner. I always enjoy getting away from campus in the afternoons. I can’t really explain it, but it is just nice to get away.
I feel the need to mention, a tradition that has developed between a couple friends of mine and me. On Tuesdays, it has become routine to go to the Kogi truck a couple blocks from campus. If you don’t know what Kogi is, it is check out this link: http://kogibbq.com/. I won’t even try to make an attempt to explain it, in fear of dictating far from an accurate description. Anyhow, the food is quite tasty, if I do say so myself. You would think that we would get tired of going week after week, but it hasn’t happened yet…so I’m not complaining.
This weekend, we have a lot going on around campus with Dance Production and a campus-wide dance and all. Also, intramural basketball for the spring has just started so look forward to hearing more about that in a couple days. Oh, good luck to all the applicants!
That’s all for now…
