Busy, Busy Bee!
Boy, have these past few weeks been busy! Good busy, of course. Last weekend, aside from being Halloween, was also Homecoming AND Parents Weekend! There was a ton going on on campus, from athletic events (football won!) and brunches with parents and tons of different opportunities to wear costumes! On Friday before the weekend we had the homecoming parade, where all the sports teams decorate a car and drive it through the quad! We made a yellow buggy into a softball -
On Monday we had Trick or Treat on Greek Street, and after that there was a dance DJ'd by DJ A-Trak! (I'd never heard of him but apparently he's a big deal!) I was Pippi Longstockings for the first event and then changed into a disco ball for the dance! This week has been a really fun, but stressful, one for me. I literally just (17 minutes ago) finished my Intro to Islam midterm - I think I did really well! More excitingly, however, this week I started fall ball for Oxy Softball! Each off season the NCAA allows for D3 sports to have a certain number of hours of practicing with coaches. This year we're practicing Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday's for a little bit more then a month. We only had one practice this week, I was surprised at how happy I was to see my coaches again and get back out on the field! This week is also Initiation week for my sorority, Theta. This means that we have fun activities every night this week leading up to the new pledges being initiated on Sunday! This is a super exciting time for our sorority and it is the first time I've gone through Initiation as an active member. =) Next week is an exciting one, too. It's Greek Week, and on Sunday we have powderpuff football. Of course I plan on playing and probably getting wayyy to competitive. I like to win. I also have an Econ midterm next week, but let's not talk about that. Finally, next weekend I'm going to Arizona for my cousin's wedding!!! He's getting married on 11/11/11 and I'm SO excited to see my family! I haven't seen them since I left for school in mid August, and I'm pretty ready to be reunited. I'm going to sign off here but I will definitely blog again after the wedding with details and pictures and anything else you could ever desire!!! =] -- Lisa G
