Can you meet me half way...
Blogger: Marilyn Bran
So it's a week after Spring Break and I am already overloaded with work. The good thing is that it is mid semester which means we only have a few weeks until summer vacations! The bad thing is that it means finals are approaching..umm actually let's not think about that.
This weekend was Dance Production, one of Oxy's oldest tradition. It was my first time doing it and I was a nervous wreck the day of performance. My friends who had done Dance Pro before convinced me to join them and do it as well. I can say that I am glad I did it because it was such a great and fun experience. There were so many good dances that I wished I was in more than one. I was in the Hula dance, my roommate was one of the choreographers, so if I ever needed extra practice she was there. I had so much fun both nights and was excited to hear that for the first time ever, both days were SOLD OUT! I am kind of sad that it is over. Practices were fun, well we made it fun and was not intense at all. But the week of Dance Pro was hectic! We had practices every night of the week and also had to schedule in homework, work, and class. But now that it is over we can relax (just a tiny bit!).
The next few weeks, I feel, will pass at a fast pace. I have so many events to attend (ok, I want to attend) and one of them being Springfest this week. During my freshmen year we had Nas and Mayor Hawthorne as musical guests and last year we had Snoop Doggy Dog. This year I was very excited to hear that none other than Common is the performer! I am a big fan of his so I don't want to miss this! Also in the next weeks I will have a lot of Delta (my sorority) events.
Jumping back to this week, I am also happy that my dearest friend will be visiting me during her spring break. She was my neighbor here at Oxy freshman year and was my roommate for the fall semester of my sophomore year. Sadly she decided to transfer back to her home state of Oregon, but she is coming back to visit this year! Actually, she's arriving tonight so I won't be sleeping tonight!! Oops, I have class and work tomorrow...
Any who, I hope everyone is having a great week and I am pleased to hear that acceptance letters went out and you are all looking into what school to choose. Good luck and hope to meet some of you soon during Oxy's open house day(s)!!
I now leave you with a few dance pro pictures taken by friends:
Also I found this online and thought it was hilarious because I played with these when I was a child:
