What you should do as an Occidental College student: GO TO THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER. I found these awesome people WAY too late in my time at Oxy. As I've been going through the process of applying for jobs as a second semester senior, I've realized I needed help. Some serious help.
Luckily, at Oxy we have the Career Development Center (CDC - not the Center for Disease Control!). We had mock interviews tonight with distinguished (and very helpful!) alumni. All of them were very friendly, but it gave the students some GREAT ideas on how to prepare for an interview.
The CDC is helpful for all students, regardless of their year! They have great internship information for your summers and great connections that you should start forming before you get to senior year. So even if graduation seems like a long ways away, go visit the CDC! They are friendly, kind, considerate, and have TONS of useful information.
Don't do what I did and wait until senior year! They'll give you a running start to your career, especially if you give them your time and effort.
