Catching Up
Hey y'all! Sorry that I haven't been posting in a while. When my advisor told me that taking a biology and chemistry class at the same time would be a challenge, she was right. However, it hasn't been overbearing and I've been able to slowly get used to the workload. My course load for spring semester has been more difficult than fall, but it has to be done :D Currently, it's spring break and most of my friends have gone home to rest over their much deserved break. I headed home and can't wait to hang out with my friends that came back to LA from Boston and New York. It's been too long since I've seen them! It was a little difficult waiting for break but I've been trying to keep busy with work. When there was free time, my friends and I have gone to the beach and hiking to the Griffith Observatory. Hiking at the the observatory leads to the Hollywood sign. Unfortunately for us, the road was blocked so we only got to see it from far away. Nonetheless, it will still pretty cool, and I captured a picture:
So you all, Class of 2016, might also be wondering what else Eagle Rock has to offer. This past semester has been filled with trips to Lemongrass (a Vietnamese restaurant that made me miss food from home even more), Spitz, and the Kogi truck (a Korean take on Mexican food) that occassionally comes to Eagle Rock. All of these places are within close proximity to school, but would be even closer with a car (which is why you should convince your parents to let you bring a car to campus!! Haha). Now besides doing homework, eating, and hanging out with friends, I am also happy to say that my friends and I got a Norris quad! Applying to live there required an application process and a group pf 8 people. It was a great surprise before we gone on Spring Break. Norris Hall is a living community on campus that is composed of a few towers that contain quads. On a single floor in a tower are two quads. A quad contains a common room and four surrounding dorm rooms. We are all excited to move in next semester because it'll be a great place to live for our 2nd year before everyone goes away to study abroad their Junior year. This may be somewhere you can consider to live in next year after your 1st year. Thinking about this makes me reflect on how much time has passed since I got to campus for orientation week! That just signals for the good times that lay ahead for all of us in the future. Finally, there are only a couple of weeks left till you guys hear back from Oxy. I remember receiving my admission package in the mail around late March, and I hope that you guys will receive one too (: Enjoy the break everyone!!
