Daddy Long Legs, Karate, and Kites
Hello All! Sorry I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks; life has been Crazy with a capital C. Last week was Informal Greek Recruitment, so I was busy up the wazoo. Not to mention that I had two papers, two exams, and a karate competition. In case you aren't familiar with recruitment, basically it's a week-long series of events for those who want join the Greek community. It starts with a general meet-and-great session with each sorority, then a philanthropy event on night two, a preference dinner on the third night (where you get dressed up and indicate your top 2 choices), and finally bid night, where you hang out with your new sisters! It's a lot of fun, but it does take a lot of time. You have to do a lot of planning in advance, i.e.,when you're going to do your homework.[gallery columns="4"] On that note, let me tell you something, a word of advice if you will: DON'T TAKE 22 UNITS.
Just don't do it. On the other hand, I really do love all my classes. It just gets to the point where there's so much to do, it's overwhelming. This week was much less stressful than last week, though. Luckily, fall break is coming up, which means two things: 1) four day weekend!!!!! 2) We've reached the halfway point of the semester It's hard to believe that we've already been in school for almost 8 weeks. On one hand, it feels like it's flown by, and on the other, I feel like there's still so much to do that it can't possibly be nearly half over. I know I'm only a sophomore, but I feel like my time left at Oxy is too short. I don't want it to end!!! But enough of such sad talk. I have two and a half years left at Oxy, so there's really no reason to be thinking of the end. In other news, this week I made a necklace with my Theta sisters, as our director of sisterhood and social has her own jewelry company that she makes herself
(and it's all really cute, btw). This is what mine looked like, more or less, though it's not a picture of my necklace. It was much harder to make than it looks.
