Exploring L.A. and Planning My Future
Blogger: Enrique Aguilar
Hello, everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA (if you’ve even noticed) from blogging, school has been pretty hectic lately! Among the many applications I have to fill out, classes are more rigorous and time consuming. I’m not complaining, though, because now that I have my declared my major and have most of my semesters planned out, I can cross that stress off the checklist.
Anyway, lets catch up a little bit. Besides going to class, I’ve been starting to explore California a lot more. One of the reasons I left Chicago was because I wanted to see what else is out there, and I am finally doing so. Hiking has become one of my new favorite hobbies. A couple friends and I have made it a tradition to go at least every Saturday to a new hiking trail and enjoy everything it has to offer. Last weekend we went to a trial in Malibu that had some amazing views of the ocean and Pacific Coast Highway. After the hike we went to Neptune’s Net, which is apparently a really popular place to eat in the area according to the line that wrapped around the restaurant. I encourage everyone to take advantage of their time here and really get to know California; there are so many hidden gems that are taken for granted.
Since I always love to talk about the speed of time (here I go again), SECOND SEMESTER IS FLYING BY. I seriously feel like I just got here a week ago and we’re already around two weeks away from Spring Break! While I love to enjoy my time off by hiking or eating, I also have to start doing adult things like applying to jobs and internships so I’m not completely lost when I graduate. I know I’m exaggerating a little bit and it won’t be as scary as it sounds, but you can never be too safe. I’m going to start saying that I am a junior in college soon-ish, and when that time comes, I hope to have an even more clear vision of what I want to do post-college. Hopefully things start to fall in place. Stay tuned for my next blog!
