The Final Grind
Blogger: Amber Thai
These past few weeks have been filled with birthday activities and the final grind towards working on my senior comprehensive presentation. I recently turned 21 a couple of weeks ago, and it was by far the best birthday that I celebrated at school. It reminded me of how great it is to go to a small school and how awesome of a community Oxy is! Since my birthday was two days before Halloween, I remembered to head to Krispy Kreme for their Halloween-themed donuts.
With all that was going on, I have been working on my senior comprehensive presentation. As a Biology major, I signed up to present on an environmental neurotoxin known as the Tetanus neurotoxin produced by a bacterium that causes prolonged muscle contractions and spasms. My presentation is coming up in a week and I’m trying not to be too anxious because it doesn’t help with being productive. I’m just happy that I’ll be done in time for Thanksgiving (:
I’ve also remembered to take some time away from school and stress by getting together with my family for brunch or dinner. My niece recently celebrated her 3rd birthday and my family got together for brunch at our favorite dim sum restaurant, Capital Seafood. As you can see, I ate everything that was placed front of me, and the food was good so the table soon got filled with empty metal plates that soon got refilled with more food. I wish I was eating some dim sum now!
Just to mention some random sightings around campus…sometimes I am amazed by what others can come up with by using random objects. In the picture below I found a few chairs, tables, and a pizza box stacked neatly on top of each other to form a sort of tower in the Rangeview courtyard. My question is of how they got that pizza box on top.
I’m going to get back to working on my presentation, and I hope that all is well with everyone! For anyone at Oxy that is working on their senior comprehensive projects or studying for their upcoming finals, good luck and push through! We’re almost done (:
