Every Tuesday, the Resident Advisers in each hall put on hall spread at 10pm. This is a time when the entire hall can gather together and take part in an activity in the common room or eat some delicious food! In the past, my hall has put on a scavenger hunt, ice breaking games, movies, hypnosis, play with puppies, a cappella concerts, battle of the sexes, and much more! We've had food such as pita strips, sweet potato fries, pizza, churros, brochetta, bruschetta, ramen, boba, and other delicious itemsc! Hall spreads are a great time for the community to bond together. It is one of the benefits of living on campus: getting to know a close group of residents. As RAs, we do many programs to build community and to educate the community. Occidental College has a requirement that all first years and sophomores live on campus. This is definitely to your benefit because of the relationships you will build through this community! Let me know if you have any further questions on residential life at Oxy!
