The Happiest Place on Earth!!!

Hello all you lovely readers! Boy it's been a long time since I blogged, there've just been SO many exciting things going on! As you probably know from reading previous posts we recently had fall break, and today was the first day back! I didn't go anywhere for fall break, but I had a wonderful time enjoying the beauty of campus without all the added stress of classwork. I spent Saturday thrifting around LA with a few friends. We stopped by a few Goodwills (including the Beverly Hills Goodwill!) and I got some great finds for super cheap. As a college student that's just what I like =). Sunday I spent the day relaxing before my big day Monday where I ventured to DISNEYLAND!!! It's a super short drive away from Oxy and you can buy discounted tickets in the Student Activities Center!!! I went with two friends, and since it was a Monday it was not super crowded, so we got to go on almost every ride! Now, personally, I'm a huge fan of Splash Mountain, but they were not as into it so we decided to just go on each ride once (except for the Matterhorn because there was no line!) And as always we took tons of pictures, ate lots of super delicious unhealthy food, and were absolutely exhausted by the end! Here's one of my favorite shots, a classic which I take every time I go to the Happiest Place on Earth: Now there are reasons that I haven't blogged much these past few weeks, and I'll share a few of them with you now! A couple of weeks ago we had Informal Recruitment for my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. We got 5 of the nicest most wonderful girls as pledges. They're all sophomores, and it's been really fun to get to know them. I also have been spending more time in my club, OSBLN - Occidental Sports Business and Law Network. This is a club which I joined this year, and I am SO glad that I did! It provides a place where I can learn about sports business jobs such as marketing, social networking, advertisement etc. which really interest me! A few weeks ago we put on our first big event which was an NFL Alumni Panel. Our club president brought in 5 Oxy alums who have worked in the NFL in various positions and they each said a little bit about what they do/did, how they got into the business, and how Oxy helped them get there. It was really cool! For this event I was the club photographer so I got to walk around snapping pictures, I felt very professional =) Those are just a few of the things I have been doing between my 6 classes and softball (we've had captains practices for a few weeks now and we start Fall practice on October 31st!) To conclude I'd like to leave you with a picture of food from Spitz that always makes me happy, and it has made me decide that right after I post this I will go down to dinner. =) Happy reading everyone!
