Occidental College
Campus Conversations
Hello, Spring semester
The first month back at school has proven to be quite busy and eventful. With a busier class schedule and more extracurricular activities, I definitely haven't had as much free time as I did last semester. I went through formal recruitment a few weeks ago and ended up pledging Delta Omicron Tau, which is one of the local sororities on campus. I, like the majority of the Oxy students involved in Greek life I've spoken with, did not expect to join a sorority when I first started college. However, I'm really glad I decided to go through with rush (out of curiosity) because Oxy Greek life is so different from and more laid-back than Greek life at other schools, and I can already tell it will be a lot of fun. Despite a busier schedule, my friends and I have had the opportunity to get out and try various restaurants in Eagle Rock and the Los Angeles area. Personal favorites of mine have been the fried pita bread at Spitz, the special heart-shaped pizza for Valentine's day at The Capri, and pizookies at BJ's (I can thank Delta for introducing me to this.)
