Hi everyone! My name is Hue (pronounced “hu-ay”), and I am a first-year student. I am currently still undecided about my major but I’m leaning towards Economics or Asian Studies. I came from Vietnam, and I am half Vietnamese and half Taiwanese. My time in America has provided me with the opportunity to experience a different culture and broadened my view of the world. Travelling is my hobby, and music and art are my passions. I love to play the piano and violin, sing, compose, draw, sketch, and design posters on computer. My parents and I would travel to a different country every summer vacation, from the Great Wall of China to the Eiffel Tower in France. When it comes to deciding where I wanted to go for college, Oxy is among some of my top choices. Despite the liveliness of Los Angeles City (where the College is situated), Oxy offers a close-knit community and tranquil environment. At Occidental, I am able to pursue my musical passion by participating in College Chorus, my curiosity about cultures by taking various language classes, as well as my desire to make a positive impact on my community by volunteering for AATP (Asian-American Tutoring Project) and NPP (Neighborhood Partnership Program). Thanks for reading :)!
