The juggling act
Blogger: Marilyn Bran
As a college student the first thing you learn to do is to manage time. You have to go to class, do homework, socialize, and maybe do extra curricular activities. As the years progress there might be more stuff added to your, already, piling to do list. I have found that during my junior year I have been thrown so many other things to juggle that I didn't know if I was going to make it. One thing to know before going to college is not to sign up for all of the programs, clubs, jobs, etc that they might offer you. Choose wisely! Choose something that you enjoy, that will pay off, and that you could use in the future. For example, during my freshman year I signed up for so many clubs and organizations and as the weeks progressed, I realized that I was not going to be able to attend all these events and meetings. I chose wisely and, although I feel that I have no time to myself these days, I feel that the organizations I am a part of will surely pay off in the end.
As of today I am juggling school, homework, a part time job, a 2-unit internship, two other organizations, and..yeah that's it, but I am not complaining because I know people that have even more things on their plate. So to end this short post I will advise you to choose wisely and remember, time management is key. Congrats to those who got accepted to Oxy and hope your decision making isn't too stressful :)
Until next time!
