On Leaving Campus

Hi everybody! First off, big congrats to Oxy's ED class of 2016! Hooray! I went ahead and introduced myself on your official Facebook page, but here I am again. So two days before finals began, I caught the worst cold ever. I was a grouchy, sniffly mess, and I holed up in my dorm room so library-dwellers wouldn't kill me. Studying is seriously awful when you are THAT. SICK. But finals come regardless of how sick and unhappy you are, and I managed to get through them okay. I definitely ate over the recommended number of cough drops you're supposed to eat in a day, though. Whoops. My roommate and I are driving back home this year, and we take off in about 24 hours. Being the organized and efficient student that I am, I... haven't started packing at all. Instead, I've been too busy getting froyo with besties and dealing with my stress-breakouts from finals. #teenagegirlproblems #butreally If you're interested in meeting some of the big faces around campus, definitely head over to hercampus.com/oxy and check out the Campus Celebrity and Campus Cutie profiles. I hope everybody has a wonderful winter holiday and that everybody survives admissions season with mental health and general sanity intact. If you can, take a trip with your friends over the break - that's what I did and it really brought us closer, which was the best way to end high school together. Love, Madi

P.S. I just painted my nails bright pink with a pewter glitter accent nail. So gorgeous. I highly recommend this style if you're all about trends too! Other color combinations I love: mint green with silver or gold glitter, light blue nails with dark blue glitter, purple-grey nails with purple glitter, AHH the combinations are endless!! I realize that in the universe there are only two people that care about my nails - me and the girl who does my nails (my long-suffering roommate has lost interest at this point), but I'm just so giddy to be free!!
