A new year, a new blog
After a very relaxing winter break I am happy that soon we will all be returning to Oxy for the Spring semester. A new year, a new blog! This winter break seems longer than others which I was happy for because I needed a break after fall semester. Before winter break started, my mom, sister, cousin, and I enjoyed a getaway to Disneyland! I hadn’t been there since Gradnite, which is a tradition at my high school (the night of graduation you enjoy at Disneyland with hundreds of other graduated high school students) and noticed that things hadn’t changed. My mom hadn’t been to Disneyland in years and I know she was the one who enjoyed it the most. Unfortunately the week that followed that day was finals week, but I made it through! My winter break was not filled with a lot of travel, just family time and hanging out with old friends. But I am actually ready to start the new semester. The beginning of this semester will be hectic. I have decided to apply to study abroad last minute so it is a little frustrating writing these essays for the application. I am crossing my fingers that I get in to the program I want, Salamanca, Spain. When my Spanish professor informed me about this place, I immediately fell in love. The city is very vibrant and I’ve always wanted to visit Europe so what better way to spend 4 months there! BUT first I need to get accepted and the deadline for the application is approaching (February). So for the next week I will be writing essays and asking for letters of recommendations to finish my application. Until next time! -Marilyn
