Physics on the Sidewalk
Hello! This is Noah checking in again. Today I wanted to share with you some thoughts about physics at Oxy. One of the main reasons why I chose Oxy was because I wanted to study physics but still be at a liberal arts college. I could not have made a better choice. The photo in this post was taken during one of my quantum mechanics classes. On the more beautiful days our teacher gives each student a slide and asks them to draw it on the sidewalk and explain it to the rest of the class. Pretty cool ... right? Studying physics at Oxy also gave me a great background for engineering. Next year I will be working on my masters at Carnegie Mellon University, and I won't have to take any prerequisites. I just get to jump right in. I hope you can tell that I loved studying physics here. Originally I was going to take part in the 3-2 program, but I just couldn't bear to leave Oxy a year early. I had a bunch of friends that did take part in it though, and they are having a great time at Columbia University right now. If you want to go into engineering, but don't want to study it as an undergrad ... study physics at Oxy. You won't regret it!
