Senior Year Reflection
Blogger: Jill Marucut
During this time last year, I hopped on a plane to go back to Los Angeles from Philly. I said my final goodbyes to the campaign lifestyle, and could not wait to come back home to return to my family and friends and resume a normal academic life.
Now, things are much different. I’m a senior at Oxy, and I have already completed the first half of my spring registration for my last semester of classes in college. I have submitted my first comps proposal. I have turned 21. And this has all happened during the past 7 days. My last fall semester at Oxy is already 75% completed, and I have barely been able to recollect my thoughts to realize that senior year has been moving SO MUCH FASTER than I thought it would!
With Thanksgiving on the horizon, three more weeks left of class, and finals creeping up slowly, I’m excited for my time at Oxy to accelerate. I’m excited to take my graduation pictures, finish my comps next semester, and discover life beyond college. But at the same time, I can’t help but cherish my fall semester at Oxy as one that has been difficult and fast-paced, yet so savory and eye-opening!
