Serious Withdrawal
Hi everybody! For my post this month I will be keeping it short (nothing to update you on anyway, all I do is work and sleep), and I will be writing a top 10 things I love love love and miss dearly about Oxy! Read on: 1. My friends, roommates, hallmates - all the people at school that I've gotten to know. I miss seeing boys skateboarding down the halls (against the rules!! Don't do this or suffer the wrath of your friendly RAs), and I miss my girlfriends banging my door down on Sundays to get go get breakfast. 2. Alpha Lambda Phi Alpha. I know I don't talk about it enough (/sarcasm) but I just love my girls so much! 3. I miss weekend brunch at the Marketplace (French toast sticks!) and having a meal plan in general. 4. This deserves its own spot on the list - the salad bar. I tried to recreate it at home and failed. 5. I miss the Green Bean! Strawberry cream cheese croissants haunt my sleep, seriously. 6. I miss the great classes. My brain feels a little dead from not being stimulated by much of anything lately. 7. The fountain. There are a few fountains on campus, but when we say "the fountain" we mean the big one with the spinning bits and the jets of water.

This is one of my favorite memories from last year!
8. The weather. It rained (a lot) in Seattle last night, and then this morning it sprinkled, and now it's 72 and sunny - I just want consistency!! Seattle weather is really playing with my emotions right now. 9. Mt. Fiji. It is seriously gorgeous. Best time to go is 2 AM on a clear weekday night, in my opinion. Sunset/sunrise is pretty too! 10. All of the Newcomb 226 moments. Number 10 is purely for the amusement of Kristen, Kayla, Marnie, April, Jean, Audrianna, and all of our friends who visited us in 226 - exploding Goldfish, hairballs, Nickelback (and its evil counterpart, the Nickelhack), the sausage saga (literally... exactly what it sounds like), and on and on. Hope your summers are going well! If you're going to be a first year this is the time of year you should be going to Bed, Bath & Beyond to fill out orders to pick up in LA, and making sure all your paperwork is in, and preparing to meet your roommates in a few weeks! Love, Madi
