Spring Preview
Hi everybody! It's been one week and my friends and I are already so busy. To kick of Week 2 of the semester, here's a brand new blog post! School What's new with school? My new classes are very interesting, and I like my courseload much more than I did last semester's. I'm taking Psyc201 (Statistics), Kines309 (Developmental Motor Behavior), ArtH376 (16th Century Italian Renaissance Art), and Soc101 (Intro). I'm also applying for abroad programs, and I'll hear about that in the spring. I switched my major to Psychology, and that was its own crisis, but thanks to the excellent psychology faculty and my ever-patient roommate I am now a very happy psych major. How did I know cog sci wasn't right for me? I couldn't handle the philosophy and computer science classes, and you can't pick and choose so much for interdisciplinary majors! Social Social life so far (it has only been a week) has been largely Greek life and sports games. Winter sports are wrapping up and spring sports are just beginning, and the first few months of spring semester are always filled with athletic events to attend. Basketball games are notoriously rowdy and the best way to kill the awkward time between the end of the day and the start of the night's activities. Rugby games are also super fun because fans stand on the sidelines of the field and you can see the action up close (and very personal). Formal Recruitment begins in a week and we're all so excited to welcome new members and meet everybody that comes through Rush!! It's projected to be the biggest Rush ever, and it'll be a (crazy) good time. Girls, be sure to check out Her Campus Oxy's tips for having the best experience while Rushing at hercampus.com/oxy. Trust me, they'll make or break your Rush! Her Campus Oxy HC Oxy is back from winter break with all new content, and we have a lot of exciting projects planned for this semester. Stay tuned, and LIKE us on Facebook and FOLLOW us on Twitter! Work I'm starting an on-campus job this semester, currently working about 6 hours a week in the Communications Department. Awesome department, and it's a cool inside look into the world of alumni relations and PR for universities and colleges. I'd try and think of more to write about and/or upload some pictures, but honestly I'm too busy watching Tangled on Netflix. Until next time! Love, Madi P.S. Word of advice to high school seniors: Enjoy your senior spring. Don't slack too much or fail your classes (obviously), but have fun and make this last semester all about your friends, family, and making memories. I wish I'd done more of that.
