Spring Semester Classes!
November 15, 2011
Hey everyone, Just thought I'd post something new I've done in the last week or so - registered for classes for my first Spring semester! Urban Fictions CSP - This is part of the required Cultural Studies Program, and will examine the problems and promises of urban life in major cities like LA, Hong Kong, London, etc. and how they are portrayed in film, television, text and other media. I'm really excited for this course, even though it was my second choice of class - behind Music And Trance. Math 146 - Statistics/Statistics Lab - Since I will most likely be majoring in Economics, I thought it would be handy to get the statistics requirement out of the way in my first year. I have some background in statistics, after having done the Statistics and Probability Option in IB Higher Level Mathematics. I can't wait to get back into the world of stats! French 102 - Since I took French in the IB, I thought I'd take a semester off of studying the language, and since I tested into 102 (the highest required level) I thought I'd be well off taking the course in the Spring of my first year. I definitely need to read up on my French vocabulary to get up to speed ; my roommate is a French minor so establishing conversational competence should be fairly easy. CTSJ 180 Stupidity - This was a class I signed up for to finish off my United States core requirement. Admittedly, it was a last-ditch signup, as I did not get into Intermediate Macroeconomics (ECON 251), but it seems really interesting. Timing wise, I really lucked out by having no morning classes, which means that late studying nights will be a little easier on my body. Additionally, my only class on Tuesday starts at 5 PM! Check out my schedule below:
