Summer '11...
Hello there blog readers! It’s been two months and a half since I moved out of my dorm at Oxy and since then I have done some random, but entertaining things. First I finally went to Six Flags with my friends after a year of not going. I had plans of going to Six Flags way before with some other friends, but we never actually got there. Funny story, we were on our way there when we got into a car accident. My friend was driving and he was texting (we didn’t realize this until after) and he wasn’t paying attention so we crashed. [DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE!!] Nothing too serious, but the hood of the car was completely bent upwards which prevented us from seeing the road so we never got to Six Flags (that was in May). And now in July I got to go to Six Flags with my very good friends (who don’t text and drive) and we got on all the big rides (although we did get stuck on Riddler’s Revenge for a good 10 minutes). I have also been going to the movies to watch the new ones coming out (Harry Potter on Thursday night!). So far I’ve seen Thor, The Hangover Part II, X-Men: First Class, Bridesmaids, and the best one so far: Transformers. Now my plans for the next weeks are Comic-Con and camping with the family. No, Comic-Con is not a nerd convention, although some people may say it is. I first went to Comic-Con in the summer of 2009 as a volunteer and found it very entertaining. I am not into comic books, but I am an avid TV/movie watcher and that’s what they are known for. They have panels with celebrities, movie stars, TV actors and even give sneak peeks to new shows and movies. This year unfortunately I will only be able to attend 1 day out of 4 because it conflicts with the family camping trip :/. But I will enjoy that day I will have at Comic-Con. Other than that, I am pretty much relaxing at home, spending time with friends, and taking a summer course (Anthropology I). Now the waiting begins. Fall semester is just around the corner and I know incoming freshmen are excited. Enjoy the rest of your summer people and see you soon! Until next time! -Marilyn
