Summertime and the Livin's Easy...

... Well, mostly easy. After a hiatus thanks to finals, tearful goodbyes, packing, then moving back home and settling in, I am back! So what have I been up to the past couple months? I moved back into my old room at home, and let me tell you - the thing is a relic. My lime green walls (yeah...) are still covered in magazine cutouts, the cute fluffy stuffed animals still fill my bookshelves (yeah...) and all the questionable high school fashion choices fill my closets (say it with me - yeah..........). It's definitely nice to have my own bathroom, but I miss my mini-fridge, the microwave, and most of all, I miss my roommates and hallmates. It's a lot of fun seeing high school friends again! My girlfriends and I have been getting coffee, eating out, seeing movies, going shopping, getting manicures, and doing all the things we loved doing back in high school. It's also fun to see people I never thought I'd see after graduation - I've changed, and so have they, and it's nice re-acquainting with each other. A lot of those boys sure grew up in a year! Then there's my job. I'm a waitress at a trendy place in downtown Bellevue, and that takes up the majority of my time. It's really fun, and I would encourage anybody to get out there and serve tables! It's a great job that pays well, and you meet all sorts of fun (read: crazy) people doing it. It's also great work experience :-) When I'm not working, seeing friends, or sleeping (the best part of summer), I'm Skyping friends from school. All of us agree - we can't wait to go back to school in the fall!! Just last night, my roommate and I Skyped until quite late at night (in the morning?) to the point where we were both falling asleep with the lights out - just like back at home. Throughout the summer I think I'll post some top 10 lists - I LOVE lists!! Here's the first one: top 10 fun facts about me! 1. Friends is my favorite TV show. I own the box set of the 10 seasons and can beat you in any trivia contest. 2. My favorite Starbucks drinks are Pike Place Roast extra hot with 1/2 inch room, green tea frappucinos, and skinny vanilla lattes (aka the Princess Latte). 3. I have a piercing addiction - just got my 11th yesterday. 4. I have kept just about every single magazine I have ever purchased. We're talking issues of Teen People from 2005 all the way up to Blake Lively on the cover of this month's Glamour. 5. I have a pretty dog named Tinker Bell who is a mini goldendoodle bundle of cuteness and love. 6.  My mouth hangs open constantly and I just can't help it. 7. I am really, really terrified of spiders. I wake my parents up in the middle of the night regularly to make them kill them for me, and the first time one crawled into our room at school, I cried. 8.  My favorite music right now is Taylor Swift, Fleet Foxes, Ke$ha (duh), Ellie Goulding, and Wiz Khalifa. 9. My hobbies are watching crime shows, fashion & style, and cleaning my room meticulously. 10. My dream job is still quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. Watch out, Matt Hasselbeck... I really hope a lot of you incoming first-years are from Seattle - repping the 206 (and fine, the 425 and the 253 as well) is very important at Oxy. If any of you want to meet up please feel free to email me! I'd love to meet and talk and (of course) get coffee. Also, hopefully you've seen me on the Occidental College Class of 2015 Official Facebook group, answering questions and generally lurking. Feel free to contact me there too!
