Thoughts From A Senior

A few weeks ago, all of the Greek organizations went through formal recruitment - one week of chatting endlessly with first years and other interested potential members, learning about them and telling telling them about your organization and your experience at Oxy. Going through this week and the aftermath for the final time definitely felt strange for me. When the new Theta's walked into their first chapter on Monday, I remembered clearly the nerves I felt during my first chapter and meeting all of the seniors who seemed so much more mature and knowledgeable than I was.
Another interaction that called to light my "big-bad seniorness" happened when a friend brought a first-year to our off-campus game night, and the first-year mentioned that his friends thought it was so cool that he was hanging out at a "senior house". When did my friends and I become the cool older kids? :p
On an unrelated note, as I mentioned in my last post I find it important for Oxy students to explore not only LA, but also Oxy. As a follow-up to this I've scheduled my first recording session with Oxy's RAW Records! I also got to explore LA more last week when some friends and I saw The Book of Mormon at Pantanges theater in Hollywood! It really is so amazing to study in a place that has so many easily-accessible opportunities.
