A Week of Work and Expectations

It's finally Spring Break at Oxy!
This past week for me was filled with a mixture of excitement, nervousness, stress, and relief. For one, I celebrated my 20th birthday last Saturday by attending a Pentatonix concert! (For those of you who have not heard of Pentatonix, you are missing out. Look them up on Youtube!) One of the biggest things that I appreciate about Oxy is certainly its fantastic location. Not only is there a plethora of museums, restaurants, and diverse attractions that you can visit any weekend, LA also has an exciting music scene in which both up-and-coming and famous artists remain active. As someone who especially loves all the music that artists on Youtube produce, I definitely appreciate Oxy's close proximity to all these concerts. In fact, I will be attending another concert in June featuring another famous music group on Youtube, the Piano Guys! I admit, Los Angeles has kind of spoiled me rotten.
The rest of the week was filled with essays, assignments, and midterms, all of which cost me hours of needed sleep that I will have to catch up on over Spring Break. Besides that, this past week was when the International Programs Office notified sophomores like myself whether they have been accepted to study abroad! I am happy to say that I have been accepted to study abroad in Rome next fall! I am still making my final decision as to whether I want to study abroad, but for now I am certainly soaking up all the excitement and possibilities that await me in this new experience.
This Spring Break will be a good time for me to take a breather from the constant studying and working and will rejuvenate me for the Dance Production shows the weekend after Spring Break. Just thinking about the future and how Oxy has played such a big role in my future makes me extremely excited!
