YEAR 2!
Hello all! Allow for me to reintroduce myself. My name is Kyle Beasley and I am second year student from Riverside, California. I am a recently declared Economics major with a possible double major in Urban & Environmental Policy. On campus I am involved with the Dean’s Advisory Council, the Student-Alumni Relations Committee, and am the historian for the Black Student Alliance here at Occidental.
Since being back on campus, a lot has been going on. I am a lot busier than I was last year with classes and extracurricular activities, but I find that when I have a routine I am much more productive. Finding something to do in my spare time isn’t too difficult though.
In Los Angeles, there are a lot of things to do and get involved with. My friends and I decided to head up to a beach in Malibu for the day and just soak up the sun and catch a few waves one afternoon. Another weekend we went to Six Flags Magic Mountain for a nice campus getaway. One of our more recent adventures led us to the
Griffith Observatory. The view from the attraction allows for panoramic views of the entire city. It is definitely a “must see” in Los Angeles at night time.
Oxy’s convenient location allows for many spur of the moment trips to some great spots around the city. Nearing the mid way point of the semester, the workload is definitely picking up. More papers and definitely more reading…
That’s all for now!
