Year Two: And Go!
Hi everybody! So it's been nearly 6 weeks since my last post, and I apologize for the hiatus! The start of the school year is always so busy, and my schedule is so packed this semester! In a good way, of course. I'm involved all over campus and even a little off campus too! This year, I'm the secretary of Alpha Lambda Phi Alpha. We just had our Informal Fall Recruitment, which was a very busy week but so worth it because we were able to welcome 19 new pledge babies to Alpha tonight! I love being an officer because it allows me to give back to an organization that has given so much to me already. I also have a little sister, who I am guiding through her pledging process. In addition to Alpha, I'm also the Editor in Chief of Her Campus Oxy, which is a new thing that I started prior to the semester's beginning! Her Campus Oxy strives to provide a place for college-women to write about their experiences and to provide content that is relevant to us. Definitely check it out to hear more about what's going on on campus. I also have an internship off campus this semester! I work for a boutique PR firm that specializes in entertainment public relations. It's located in West Hollywood on the Sunset Strip, which is quite the commute, but I'm learning so much and it's been a great experience. Two weeks ago I got to attend Macy's Passport Presents Glamorama, which is an annual benefit event to raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS. Pauley Perrette was there, as was Ross Mathews, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Johnny Weir, and Cee-Lo Green and Far East Movement performed live. Suffice to say it was incredible.

The Macy's Passport Presents Glamorama after party!
Aside from Alpha, Her Campus Oxy, and my internship, I'm taking four classes and unfortunately, this week is my midterm week so I'm trying hard to stay sane. Mostly that's meant drinking a gallon of coffee a day.
To all of you high school seniors reading this: live it up!!!! Senior year is such a special time when you really get to focus on doing what you love and spending the time with your friends and family. And of course, good luck with the application process. Has it really been that long since I was there??
Let me know what y'all want to hear more about! Alpha, Her Campus Oxy, my internship, Oxy in general - leave a comment!
Til next time,
Madi
