Local Highlight- Cherry Tomatoes
Local and Organic Cherry Tomatoes from Be Wise Ranch

This week’s local highlight is Cherry Tomatoes from Be Wise Ranch. Be Wise Ranch is a certified organic farm that has been growing organic produce since 1977 in the Santa Fe Valley, just eight miles east of San Diego, and only 120 miles from Oxy. This variety of tomato owes its origins to the Aztecs, who were the first to domesticate and grow tomatoes in Central Mexico. Be Wise Ranch has been certified organic for over 20 years, so these tomatoes are safer for the environment and your health. Find them at the Salad Bar and the Deli Salad station.
Be Wise Ranch organic vegetables and fruits are known nationally for their delicious flavor and fresh, sun-ripened quality. Bill Brammer, owner of Be Wise Ranch, has been committed to sustainable agriculture since the early days of the organic movement, and during his five-year term as the state president of California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), helped draft the state and federal legislation that defined organic standards for the industry. With twenty-five years of experience in organic farming, Bill is committed to improving the quality of the soil, and to growing varieties that have outstanding flavor.
