The CDC strives to create partnerships with employers who are committed to recruiting, retaining, and mentoring Occidental students and alumni.
The Career Development Center provides a variety of ways for employers to reach out and retain Occidental talent. Feel free to refer to the Oxy community page to find information on our student profile and demographics.
Recruit On Campus
Employers are encouraged to visit Occidental to speak directly with students about available jobs and internships. The CDC is happy to host an information session, drop-in hours, student appointments or interviews, or other recruitment programming, as well as to include interested employers in our industry night events held throughout the academic year. There is no fee for any individual employer visit to campus and only a $50 participation fee to attend an industry night. To find out about opportunities to recruit at Oxy and to schedule a visit, please contact Courtney Stricklin, the Assistant Director for Employer Relations, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Ms. Stricklin will arrange your facility needs and will host your time at Oxy.
Please note, employers must be hosted by the CDC in order to recruit at Oxy. Employers found recruiting without the knowledge or support of the CDC will be asked to leave the campus.

Offers of Employment
The CDC respectfully requests that employers who recruit at Oxy provide a minimum of 1-2 weeks for candidates to accept or reject an offer of employment. All job offers should be given in written form with clear salary, benefit and timeline information. The CDC is able to provide unbiased counsel to students who hav received an offer in order to support them in their decision making process.
Employers who retract an offer of employment after it has been accepted by a student wil be under review for any future recruitment at the college.
Students who renege on an accepted offer of employment will be required to meet with CDC staff to review their participation in on-campus recruitment.
The CDC is committed to the NACE guidelines of Professional Conduct for College Career Planning, Placement and Recruitment and expects the same from our employer partners and students.

The CDC is committed to fostering long-term partnerships with our employers. Whether or not you are currently recruiting in your organizations, we welcome you to campus.
The CDC is committed to providing students and alumni with information on employment opportunities. In line with the college’s values of sustainability and conservation the CDC asks for the support of our employer partners to maintain these resources digitally.
Recruiters are encouraged to bring physical copies of fliers with them for on-campus events including information sessions, drop-in hours, industry nights, etc. The CDC will not keep any remaining materials following these campus visits. Instead, the CDC will keep digital copies of recruitment materials, saved in our shared drive to be passed along to interested students via email or printed in the office during counseling appointments. If a recruiter does not have a digital copy of these materials CDC staff will gladly scan physical fliers to create a digital version for our records. Materials mailed to the CDC will not be kept and senders will be contacted with a copy of our policy for future reference.
