“I couldn't have done it without them!”

I started my internship search as most students would, searching on a database that Occidental subscribes to and finding positions that best fit my career interests.  Having never applied to a job other than miscellaneous part time summer jobs throughout high school, I approached the Career Development Center to ask for help. The advisers at the CDC helped me build a resume and cover letter from scratch that contained the appropriate content and was aesthetically pleasing to impress the creative advertising agency I was applying to. Needless to say, my application made a great impression and I received the position at the first company I applied to, a top advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City. The CDC helped me get “my reach” internship without having any experience working in the advertising field. I couldn't have done it without them!
