Associate Deans

Scott Bogue (323-259-2563), associate dean of the college, research, and sciences provides support for faculty research, with oversight for faculty start-up agreements, the human subjects, animal care and use, and biosafety committees, the sponsored research office, and the undergraduate research center.

Irene Girton (323-259-2590), associate dean of the college, teaching, and arts and humanities. Irene Girton coordinates Occidental's academic support network, working closely with the academic mastery program, the advising center, the centers for academic excellence, community based learning, and teaching excellence, the international programs office, the language and culture studio, and the scientific scholars achievement program.

John Swift (323-259-2804), associate dean of the college, social sciences, and is the director of the Core Program, overseeing curriculum and assessment. He also serves as liaison to the new student orientation program and the national awards advising office, and chairs the student progress committee.

Hanna Spinosa (323-259-2966), assistant dean of the college, institutional research, assessment and planning. Hanna Spinosa directs the College's  accreditation efforts, assessment programs, the academic program review process, campus planning efforts, and campus surveys. She also manages the office of institutional research, assessment and planning, and workflow in the dean's office.
