The Oxy Assault, Advocacy and Case Management Team provides a comprehensive support system to sexual assault survivors that includes advocacy, counseling, and medical services, as well as information about forensic exams, legal support, and housing and academic accommodations.
Naddia Palacios, M.Ed.
The Survivor Advocate is accessible 24 hours a day to provide highly confidential crisis support and resource options to students who experience sexual assault of any kind. This support includes, but is not limited to, advising, case management, and accompanying survivors to rape treatment centers or medical services.
Jenny Heetderks, Psy.D.
The Counseling staff at Emmons provides free, confidential counseling and therapy; referrals for off-campus therapy; and consultations for students, faculty, and staff who have concerns about other students. The Counseling staff is also able to connect you with Survivors Circle, an on-campus support group for survivors of sexual assault.
Ann Martella, PA-C
The Medical staff at Emmons provides confidential* medical care for students who have been sexually assaulted, including treatment for minor injuries, pregnancy prevention and STI testing prevention and treatment. We can help in referrals to resources on or off campus. Services are covered by the student health insurance plan and are provided at no cost to the student.
