Dec.7: Online Chopin Variorum Edition
John Rink of Cambridge University and Paul Vetch of King's College London present on the Onlie Chopin Variorum Edition.
Information about the project can be found here: http://www.ocve.org.uk/index.html. The presentation will go until 4, followed by a Q&A, and then a drinks reception to which everyone is invited. At this year's annual meeting of the American Musicological Society, at a session entitled "The Critical Edition in the Digital Age," noted Verdi scholar & editor Philip Gossett kicked things off by discussing the OCVE. Involving King's cutting-edge department on the digital humanities as it does, this project should appeal to not only a wide swath of music scholars and performers, but also those non-musicians interested in the digital humanities.
