Politics Candidate Sandra Alvarez Job Talk on Indigenous Social Movements
Occidental College invites the college community to attend a talk by Politics Search Candidate Sandra Alvarez of the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her talk is entitled "Intercultural Sovereignty: Theory and Practice in Indigenous Social Movements."

Roger George on the National Intelligence Council
The Politics Department invites Politics and DWA Majors to a talk by Dr. Roger George, a "Target of Opportunity Speaker."
Dr. Roger George, former CIA NIO for Europe, now on the Faculty of the National War College will comment on the recently published "Global Trends" document by the National Intelligence Council.
Dr. George is an alumnus of Occidental (1969) and has held a number of high positions in the State Department, Defense Department and CIA. He was National Intelligence Officer for Europe during the collapse of communism in 1989-91, and he is currently serving on the Faculty of the National War College.

Lecture on research specifically of Oxy's hook up culture, as well as commentary by panelists: Prof. Lisa Wade, professor of Sociology at Occidental; Jess Butler, a doctoral student at USC studying the relationship between college hook-up culture and post-feminist culture; LaDawn Best, a Client Advocate at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center; and Jenny Heetderks, a counselor and Assistant Director of Counseling Services at Oxy's Emmons Health Center.

Volunteer at the LA Food Bank
DId you miss out on MLK Day of Service? Or are you ready for more?!
Join the OCE at the LA Food Ban. The food bank is calling this event the Occidental College Community Impact Project! We will volunteer at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank assembling food packages for over 23,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County.
The Bengal Bus space we have is limited, so please contact Eleni Duret at duret@oxy.edu if you are interested in transportation from the college. Otherwise, feel free to gather a group of friends and discover a different mode of transportation to the Food Bank! The volunteer location is 2825 E. 54th St. Vernon, CA 90058.
