A Talk by Ryan Mruczek

Cognitive Science candidate Ryan Mruczek will be giving a talk entitled "Object Representations for Perception and Action."

In the amount of time it takes to blink, humans can identify and begin to act upon objects embedded within a highly cluttered and complex visual scene. How does the brain process and organize visual information in order to guide object-directed behaviors efficiently?

Mruczek will discuss the organization of the human visual system, specialized mechanisms for representing objects that we interact with such as tools, and how basic features such as motion can influence thew ay we interpret the world around us.
