Richard Leher '66 on Copyright Law and the Entertainment Industry
Philosophy major Richard Leher '66, one of the country's leading entertainment attorneys, will address the complexities of copyright law in the Internet age as the Philosophy Department's 125th Anniversary Distinguished Alumni Speaker.
A graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley and now a partner at Greenberg Traurig LLP, Leher was previously an executive at Hollywood Records and Dreamworks Records. He has extensive experience representing recording artists (including the Rolling Stones), music producers, publishers, songwriters, personal managers, record and publishing companies, as well as technology companies and executives. He will talk about how copyright applies to intellectual property in the entertainment industry, and review how recent court decisions, including the Napster, Grockster, and Viacom v. Google -- have helped shape the current state of the law.

Music Composition Workshop
Join the creative process as Occidental student composers work on their music with the Deubner/Fauchet Duo.
You can expect exciting accidents and enlightening creation during this session, as violist Brett Deubner and pianist Caroline Fauchet coach students, invite the audience to participate in the creative process, even perform a short preview from their upcoming performance on Saturday evening. Everyone is part of the process!

Springfest Pre-Show Blowout
Come down for food trucks, music, and a beer garden (for those over 21)!
The event opens at 5:00 pm with the food trucks starting to serve food at 5:30.
The event itself is free, but to eat from the food trucks you will be charged $5 for two meal tickets (cash or student account). Each meal ticket will be good for a meal from one of four food trucks (Kogi, Green Truck, Crepe'n Around, Coolhaus).

Springfest Concert: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
The Occidental College Programming Board proudly presents…
Springfest with MACKLEMORE and Ryan Lewis.
Please Note:
- This is an Oxy +1 event. Occidental students must have their student IDs. Guests must have a photo ID proving they are 16 years old or older AND be accompanied by an Occidental student.
- Oxy employees must register with OSL. More information will come out via the campus listservs.
- Alumni must register themselves and their guests online to be able to attend. Space is limited. Please bring your conformation email with your name (mobile device ok)
- Re-entry is not allowed.
- Only palm-sized bags (clutches) will be permitted and will be subject to search. Anyone with a larger bag will be turned away.
- There are no cameras permitted.
- There is no smoking in the venue.
- No outside food or drink is permitted in the venue.

7:30 p.m. - Doors Open to Students
8:00 p.m. - Doors Open to Alumni, +1, Faculty and Staff
Please arrive for the show in a timely manner. There is a hard curfew of 11PM in effect meaning that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will stop playing at exactly that time. The earlier you all get there the earlier Macklemore goes on meaning we will hear him perform for longer!
PLEASE KNOW THAT INVITATION/REGISTRATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENTRANCE INTO RUSH GYM. Entrance to Rush Gym will be first-come, first-served.

Brandon Ortega '11 on Medical School
Brandon Ortega, an Oxy graduate of 2011, is now a first year medical student at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.
