Dr. Prebel has extensive experience teaching writing in various disciplines, as well as teaching courses in her areas of scholarly expertise: 19th- and early 20th-century American literary and cultural studies and women's writing.

She has presented her work at national conferences and published articles in peer-reviewed journals. Prebel is working on a book, Engineering Womanhood: Scientific Rhetoric and Literary Form, which examines the intersection of scientific discourse and constructions of gender identity.
