Buick Achievers Scholarship Program wants to reward students who have succeeded both inside and outside of the classroom- and who may not be able to attend college without financial assistance. Applicants must be majoring in Engineering/Technology or select Design and Business- related programs, and pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries. Academic achievements, financial need, and participation and leadership in community and school activities will also be considered when reviewing an applicant. By investing in the education of America’s energy students, Penneco hopes to establish the next generation of innovators in oil and gas exploration at levels that will propel the entire industry into a more efficient, effective, and sustainable new age of energy. The California Strawberry Scholarship Program was founded by farmers to help children of California strawberry farm workers to further their educational and career goals.
The California Strawberry Scholarship Program strives to provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment. First time applicants must have a parent that is currently employed as a California strawberry fieldworker, a GPA of 2.0 or greater, and must be a full-time student. Verification of Employment with a California strawberry grower, official high school transcript, and two current letter of recommendation are also required from first time applicants. The Michael Yasick ADHD Scholarship by Shire recognizes and supports individuals diagnosed with ADHD in the US who are pursuing higher education. Applicants must be accepted or enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited two or four-year college, be a legal resident, and must be diagnosed with ADHD and under the care of a licensed health care provider for ADHD. The JVS Scholarship program provides qualified Jewish students whose primary residence is in Los Angeles with need-based financial aid, in the belief that education represents the first step in career success. Eligibility requirements include being a permanent and legal resident of Los Angeles County for at least three years, being enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university, being Jewish, being at least 16 years old, maintaining a minimum of 2.7 GPA every semester enrolled, and being able to demonstrate and verify financial need, including FAFSA Student Aid Report. Since 1974, the Sacramento Press Club has offered scholarships to students who are preparing for a journalism career. Applicants must be college students who will be juniors, seniors, or graduate students in the 2014/2015 academic year, and must have a connection to the Sacramento region. Students must submit a 400-word essay explaining how they will pursue a journalism career, why they would do so, what they have already done to prepare, their motivation, and how they meet the financial need and eligibility requirements.
