Oxy's Internet link coming through Armadale

Oxy's Armadale Entrance

As you may have noticed, we told you that maintenance work we're doing on the networking equipment in HSC will disrupt campus Internet access for 10-15 minutes. Why? Because our Internet link enters campus via Armadale Avenue and terminates in HSC, where our Internet router and firewalls live. The demarcation point, the point at which Oxy is responsible for maintaining the link, is a few feet up the pole by the Armadale entrance.  That meant that when we had this link installed, we needed some help to run some conduit  and a pullbox under the road and parking lot that allowed us to get the fiber all the way to our data closet in the basement of HSC.
