Oxy students reflect deeply and re-engage actively . . . integrating their new perspectives and knowledge in class discussions, research projects, service commitments, vocational discernment and social settings.

Study abroad doesn't stop when you get back.  Expect to cherish Japan or India or Ecuador and the relationships you developed there as part of your personal story going forward. 

And the emotional highs and lows? These are predictable and normal -- shared by tens of thousands of sojourners before you.  Reflecting deeply on the meaning of the experience can be rocky, but it usually translates in to strength of character and reinforced commitment to civic engagement, social activism, international awareness and vocational clarity. 

The entire Oxy community supports this process. Show your photos in the Green Bean or on the IPO website. Write an article for the Occidental Weekly. Join an international club. Get involved with international exchange students. Visit the Career Development Center and the special programs they offer for international career seekers.
