Network, Operations and Systems

The Networking, Operations and Systems group is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, protecting and upgrading the network infrastructure on campus.

Our Infrastructure includes:

  • Over 150 network routers and switches on campus including 2 core switches, 8 distribution layer switches, a dedicated storage network, and a router and firewall for a 1000mbps Internet link.

  • Oxyairnet, the campus wireless network, comprising over 300 wireless access points providing coverage in over 35 buildings on campus.

  • The campus datacenter, housing over 100 servers and storing over 15000 gigabytes of institutional data.

  • The Oxy Virtual Computer, providing over 100 applications to over 300 public lab stations on campus
