Ricoh Transition

To set up printing to for the Ricoh devices:

  • The printer queue name for this device is included on the "Help" sign.
  • Follow the instructions for installing the new printers on your Mac or  PC. If you run into problems, please contact the Helpdesk (helpdesk@oxy.edu or 323-259-2880) for assistance.
  • After installing the printer, open the document and select your printer.
  • If this printer doesn't appear in your printers list after the installation, save and close, and then re-open the document(s). 

On PCs:

1. Delete the Old Oxy printers
  • Open the Control Panel
  • Choose Uninstall a Program (Windows 7) or Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP)
  • Uninstall Pharos. This will uninstall the old version of the print software and remove all previously installed Oxy printers.
2. Install the new printers
  • Open bit.ly/oxyprinting in another tab or window.
  • Choose the instructions page for Oxy computers or personal computers, as appropriate.
  • Scroll down and click the link(s) to download each set of queues you would like to install.
  • After the dowload completes, double-click Department_for_Lte.exe (for Oxy computers) OR DepartmentLogin_for_Lte.exe (for personal computers)
  • Click Install.
  • When the the installation is completed, click Finish.

On Macs:

1. Delete the Old Oxy Printers
  • Open System Preferences
  • Select Print & Fax OR Print & Scan
  • Select an Oxy printer and click on the minus sign on the lower left to delete the printer; repeat for every Oxy network printer that you have in your list. Please be sure that you don't accidentally delete your USB desktop printer or any home printers!
2. Check the OS version
  • Click the Apple Menu
  • Choose About this Mac
3. Install the new printers
  • Open bit.ly/oxyprinting in another tab or window.
  • Choose the instructions page for Oxy computers or personal computers, as appropriate.
  • Scroll down and choose the download that is compatible with your operating system, OSX 10.5 or OSX 10.6-10.8.
  • Double-click Department.dmg (for Oxy computers) OR Department-Login.dmg (for personal computers) icon on your desktop.
  • Double-click Popup.pkg and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If you have OSX 10.5, double-click the Ricoh driver package and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If you have OSX 10.6-10.8, click the Apple menu and then Software Update and install the Ricoh Printer Drivers for your version of OSX.
