The Editing Lab is open for students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Door codes will be given out by instructors at the beginning of the semester. Do not give these codes out to anyone outside your class. Unauthorized students are not allowed in the editing lab, so please don’t bring your actors or friends in there to check out your project.

The lab computers can be reserved in 2-hour blocks. The reservation sheets are posted on the bulletin board outside the editing lab. You may reserve up to two blocks (for a total of 4 hours) per day. Failure to show up within 15 minutes of your block will forfeit your reservation. Before you start working, it’s a good idea to check the board and add your name to the computer you want to work on so that you won’t be interrupted. A list of rules are posted in the Editing Lab. Please make sure you’re familiar with these. And remember: absolutely no food or drink in the lab at anytime.

Though the editing lab is open 24 hours, for safety, you should never be in there by yourself at night. Try to coordinate with your classmates so that there are at least two people in the room after 10 p.m. If you believe that someone shouldn’t be in the Editing Lab, leave the room and call Campus Safety (x2599).
