Students in the Media Arts and Culture program are strongly encouraged to talk with program faculty and the International Programs Office early in their Occidental careers about integrating study abroad into their experience of the AHVA major.

Past Media Arts and Culture students have traveled to the Czech Republic, Spain, Mexico, England, and New Zealand to both study and create media work on a global scale.

Study abroad for Media Arts and Culture majors MUST occur in the FALL SEMESTER of junior year, so that all students are back for crucial junior seminars, advanced level courses, and comps preparation that occur on campus in the spring semester of junior year.

Depending on students’ foreign language proficiency and critical/creative interests, exciting opportunities to both study and produce media in another cultural context can be developed in coordination with the IPO.
