Mandatory Online Course
All incoming students are required to complete an online education program prior to their arrival on campus.
Think About It
In our commitment to a safe, welcoming, and respectful campus environment, Oxy requires all new first-year and transfer students to take Think About It before arriving on campus.
Think About It is an interactive, online course designed to prepare incoming college students for the unique challenges and responsibilities of college life.
It addresses the interconnection between substance abuse, hookup culture, and sexual voilence, encouraging students to reflect critically on the personal beliefs, social norms, and cultural pressures that enable high-risk behaviors. Its goal is to help students make healthy decisions and promote a positive campus culture for everybody.
Students must complete the course by Thursday, January 16, 2014. If you fail to complete Think About It by the January 16 deadline, you will not be able to pass Clearance, which will prevent you from enrolling in the spring semester.
Accessing the Course
All students will receive an email with information about the course and a link to access it. If you do not receive an email, please access Think About It now. You will be asked to enter your Oxy email address. Shortly after, a confirmation email with a link to the course will be sent to your Oxy email account.
In order to access Think About It, you will need a computer with internet capabilities and Flash Player. If you are unable to access a computer with the necessary features prior to the deadline, please contact Ruth Tavlin, Assistant Director for Student Success, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 323-259-2661.
