One of Occidental College’s longest running and most popular events, the 69th annual Dance Production, will take place this Friday and Saturday, March 17 and 18.

Dance Production is a student-run organization that aims to celebrate all styles of dance, from hula to hip hop, and all types of dancers. Many of Dance Production's dancers have never danced before and will make their debut on stage at this weekend's shows. The entire production is student-choreographed and student-performed, with more than 200 students participating in this year’s program.

Some 20 student choreographers have created 16 dances for the 2017 edition of Dance Production, embracing styles that range from Irish and Bhangra/Bollywood to  hula ‘auana, tap and multiple varieties of hip hop.

Performances will take place Friday, March 17 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 18 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Thorne Hall.  Tickets are $5 for students,  $8 for faculty and staff and $10 for the general public. Email dancepro@oxy.edu to pre-order your tickets.
